Our Story
The pizza oven we couldn't take with us.
How a missing built-in oven turned into a small American maker of outdoor cookware - pizza ovens, pizza steels, and the tools for cooking with fire.
Where it began
We moved out of a house with a built-in pizza oven and into one without. The first Saturday in the new place, we missed it.
So we built our own. Then a second one. Then a third - each a little better than the last, until what started as a backyard project turned into something other people wanted too.
Along the way
We tried something different - a portable campfire. It didn't land. Turns out the world has plenty of campfires already, and the people who came to us came for the cooking. Lesson noted...to some extent.
We do have some plans on this so don't lose hope!
How it's going
We shipped our first pizza steels - and they did land. Home makers and weeknight foodies wanted that wood-fired crust on a Tuesday, and we'd quietly figured out how to give it to them.
Doppio Living is more than ovens now. It's a small American maker of outdoor cookware - and the toolkit for cooking the way you actually want to.

These are the pizza ovens I wanted to own. So we built them.
How We Pick Materials
Built from materials that get better with use.
We don't pick materials because they're cheap, trendy, or easy to source. We pick what works - and what improves the longer you use it.
For our pizza ovens, that's weathering steel. The deep rust patina that forms over the first year isn't a defect; it's the steel forming a protective surface that gets stronger every season.
For our pizza steels, that's carbon steel — pre-seasoned with flaxseed oil, ready to use on day one, and developing a non-stick patina with every cook.
Whatever comes next, we'll pick it the same way: by what makes the food better, not what makes the spec sheet shorter.
Every Doppio product is designed, cut, and finished in the United States.
